This is usually the best place to start because sales teams feel the pain immediately.
What clients typically automate first: lead scoring, follow-up drafts, meeting prep (Claude reads all the history with an account and gives the rep a one-page brief before the call), and summaries of long email threads nobody wants to read.
None of this replaces your salespeople. It removes the part of their job they were never hired to do.
Your ERP
If you run operations, inventory, purchasing, invoicing, you know the ERP has all the answers and gives you none of them easily. Getting a report usually means asking someone who knows exactly where to click, then waiting.
Once Claude is connected, your team asks in normal words: “Which suppliers delivered late this quarter?” and gets an answer pulled from your actual data. No report request. No waiting until Friday.
Your Database
Every company sits on data nobody uses because pulling it requires a developer. So the developer becomes a human search engine, and everyone else stops asking questions.

n8n. This is the tool that connects everything without building software from zero. Picture a visual board where you draw the flow: “when a new client enters the CRM
→ Claude analyzes it → the result goes to the ERP → the account manager gets a
Slack message.” That entire chain, which used to require custom development, now gets built in days.
If your CTO says “we’ll connect it through the API, trigger it with webhooks, and orchestrate it in n8n,” you now know exactly what they mean. That sentence used to cost you a consultant.
The Mistakes We See Over and Over
We’ve audited enough of these projects to know where they die. Three patterns:
Starting with the flashy thing instead of the boring thing. Everyone wants the impressive AI demo. But the best first project is almost always some repetitive task your team quietly hates — categorizing tickets, drafting the same quote for the tenth time. Boring saves money. Start boring.
No guardrails. If Claude can read your database, fine. If it can write to your database, someone needs to approve that action before it happens. This part isn’t optional, and any provider who skips it is creating your next problem.
Nobody measures anything. If you can’t say “this saves us X hours a week,” you didn’t do an integration project. You did a science experiment. Define the number before writing a single line of code.

Don’t try to connect everything at once. Pick one process. One. Connect it end to end, run it for a month, count the hours saved. Then decide the next one with real numbers in hand instead of promises.
