Hackathon: A challenge to IT innovation
Hackathon is a competition aimed at undergrads and recent graduates, in which interdisciplinary teams of designers and developers come together to propose and develop a digital solution to a real-life problem posed by the organizers of the event.
This initiative, which took place on March 16th and 17th, was intended to generate a social impact based on digital entrepreneurship. Moreover, it looked for promoting education in areas that encourage the design and development of applications.
This second edition of the Hackathon had the participation of 40 students, who had to develop a challenge posed by NativApps, which consisted of creating a social network that had these specifications: home, trends, following and unfollowing users, creating posts, liking them, deleting them, among others.
The participants had 24 hours to complete the challenge, during which NativApps collaborators assumed the role of tutors to provide advice and support during the development of the activity. At the end of this term, the jury – made up of employees with experience in Graphic Design, UI/UX, Front-End and Back-End – chose as winner the team formed by Brian Ramírez and Juan Rodríguez, students of the Systems Engineering program at Universidad del Norte. “Thanks to NativApps for giving us their support to learn and grow every day more as programmers”, expressed the winners of the challenge
